Danny makes a good point here. Not like this is unusual - in fact it is rather common hence I so rarely give credit him because its normal for him. But yes- read this.

I had a post I was planning earlier but I haven't had time and thus it will come later.

To come: thought from family friends discussions which has been a recurring discussion.

adventure hat on...: I have a feeling things may be a little different from here on out...

Shef's blog : I have a feeling things may be a little different from here on out... is a firsthand report of this. As is her livejournal says similar in a more personalized voice.

Or you could look to Google News and see that while we were sleeping (or attempting to) there were attacks on London. So weird to think.

Hi I'm a dork.

Who's a dork?

Some of you may have seen Shef's post and already know this story- so hence posting a different source which is also generally credible.

A quote from the book I'm currently reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

And that's the thing about people who mean everything they say. They think everyone else does too.

Ammusing pieces of the interview with Roddick after Wimbledon

Q. What did you say to him when you shook hands?

ANDY RODDICK: I just said, "Congratulations." There's not much else to say. I have loads of respect for him, as a person as well. I told him, I've told him before, "I'd love to hate you, but you're really nice."

Q. On that note, there's just so much gushing and gushing over him. Can you think of one negative thing to say about Roger Federer?

ANDY RODDICK: Well, he cut his hair. That's all we had going for us before. There's not much to say other than, you know, if I said anything else, it would be out of jealousy or out of me wanting to win or out of spite.

...

Q. What is it like mentally to be in a situation like that when you're throwing out your best stuff, have a couple good points, it's almost like he teases you into thinking you have a chance? How do you deal with that mentally?

ANDY RODDICK: Sounds like my life in high school (laughter).
... (answer continues)

....

Q. You said sometimes you have to just tip your hat to him. Are you able to do that during the heat of a game?

ANDY RODDICK: No. I'm in denial the whole time I'm out there (smiling).

Wish I could have seen it but I slept through my alarm again. Missed seeing Venus win yesterdat too. Meh.

Learning interesting things at work...

Let me enlighten you on how to wash your hands. I've known this for a while but this is the way the person making your coffee is told to do so by the sticker on the wall which has illustrations and times indicated.

Step One.
Rinse your hands with water.

Step two.
Add soap and rub hands together for 20 seconds.

Step three.
Add water to the soapy hands and rub hands together for at least 20 seconds.

Step four.
Rinse off all soap.

Step five.
Dry your hands off using a clean paper towel.

Step six.
Using a paper towel turn off the water so your now clean hands don't get anything on them from when you turned on the water with dirty hands.

Fascinating no?

Not really but its about as exciting as hand washing can be.

So O'Conner is leaving the supreme court... this could be interesting.
For a pleathora of sources just google news it. For a few comments I found interesting- check here.

Social politics

So the other night at dinner (the other night being last night) I was talking with two of my dad's old work friends and my parents. At dinner one news item was brought up which I'd not seen on the nightly news nor in the pages of the paper I'd seen that day. However this is a significant news item which we should consider.

Our neighbors to the North have always been a bit more liberal than here in the USA. And unlike our president who seeks to ban it, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and other liberal leaning canadians have pushed legislation through the House of Commons that will leagalize same sex marriage. It is expected to easily pass in their Senate and become law by the end of July.

One thing Martin said which I found quoteworthy

We are a nation of minorities. And in a nation of minorities, it is
important that you don’t cherry-pick rights.

More can be seen here. And here. And here as well. And more if you care to look.
